Not quite organized all the time

Well last night was the first night of Vacation Bible School. We were all planning on going and letting Sammi run around like a wild child!  Unfortunately best laid plans don’t always get executed as you envision. I had an all day softball marathon due to 2 weeks of rain outs through the season so I was playing ball for 5 hours.  It didn’t help that it was 95 degrees and no shade to speak of.  Anyway, knowing that I would be playing all day the girls packed up and headed out to York to spend the day with “Ma-Ma” and Grampy. Wouldn’t you know Noelle caught some sort of bug and was not feeling great and the organization to get the girls packed up and back to Lancaster in time to eat and get to bible school just didn’t happen as envisioned.  So Sammi missed day one of VBS, however we are planning (hahaha) on things going much smoother tonight.  I am sure Sammi will love the interaction of others her age and it should be a good time for all. I will let you know tomorrow how we make out.  :)

6 weeks and everyone to church

Well this week we were all able to pack up bright and early and make it in to church.  Yea!!  We had been taking turns taking Sammi while the Noelle or I stayed home with Danica. It was nice for the whole family to attend together this week. As expected everyone wanted to see her and give their best wishes, so getting out of church was a challenge – but a good one.  It was so nice to see everyone and to have them meet Danica.  And Sammi was very good about the fact that everyone was oooing and ahhing over her sister.  She has been a great big sister so far!

Picture People

So we took the girls tonight to the Picture People to do family shot, individual shots and a couple sister shots.  Sammi was a bit tired but amazingly enough we got some good shots.  The photographer did a nice job. Danica did great and was very tolerant of being put in multiple poses.  You can check out their pictures at the link below.  You will need to know the Access Code: 9453af7a55, the email address, ndandridge@gmail.com and the Password: Samantha

One of the things that Noelle and I were absolutely amazed over was Sammi’s intuition. They did a session with her using fake flowers and a toy watering can.  Now we have never used a watering can around the house to water flowers and to our knowledge Sammi has never seen anyone using a watering can. Amazingly when the photographer gave her the toy she walked right up to the flowers and began to pour imaginary water on the flowers. Our jaws hit the floor.  She continues to amaze everyday!

10 lbs!!

Well after a minor set back last week – a cold that has now made it from Danica to Noelle to Doug – Danica’s Monday weight check was a positive one.  She is now 10 lbs!  Can you believe it.  She is more slert every day and is smiling at Noelle all the time. Noelle is a saint for dealing with both girls during the day, not sure how she does it but she is masterful.  Especially considering she gets like 3-4 hours sleep before she is up feeding again.  We are still waiting for Danica to sleep through the night, but Joy promises that the magic number is 12 lbs. We will update at that point to see how close she is.

Mickey and Cylo?

First off, today I got to see my little bro do something I have wanted to do for several years now.  If you know Adam you know that one of the things he is VERY passionate about is the Marines and their Toys for Tots drive.  He is an honorary member and I have seen him raise a good bit of money towards this very worthy cause.  I am so proud of hi philanthropic efforts.

Well as a result of his involvement with the Marines he got to play today in the local celebrities vs. Marines softball game.  The exciting part (besides raising money for Toys for Tots) was that they got to play at Clipper Magazine stadium.  How exciting.  He was giving me the play by play between innings and I was definitely jealous of his opportunity.

So Noelle and I took Sammi to the game and Sammi was so excited to meet both Cylo (the Barnstormers mascot) and Mickey Mouse at the game.  She is a HUGE Mickey fan so this was very exciting.  I was not sure how it was going to go.  Some small children are not terribly fond of big over sized people in harry costumes.  But not Sammi.  The excitement on her face was so precious.  She wanted to run right up and hug them.  She actually wouldn’t leave Cylo alone.  We went up the steps onto the concourse and ran into Cylo.  Sammi ran right up to (him / her???) and wanted to hug (it).  Some women were trying to get pictures with Cylo, and if they look closely they will see Sammi in the background trying to get Cylo’s attention.  It was a lot of fun.
